What Is Your Favorite Shooting Range?

I don't currently have one. My favorite was the one on my property. Unfortunately, I now have housing developments on three sides of my 50 acres and no place to put my backstop with a clear downrange.
It used to be Ralph's Range in Tom Bean, Texas. It closed after the County DA and the owner got in a pissing match about supposed rounds going over the berm and doing damage to houses over a mile away downrange. The owner just closed it because he got tired of fighting the county instead of raising the berm another 10 ft.

Mine is right out my back door. I have 80 acres here at home, most of it wooded. I can only shoot about 150 yards using my current settup, but since all my hunting is about 150 yards or under, that's all I need. I have a nice bench, and a homemade target stand that I can move closer for hunting handguns (50 yards), or move it back to 125 yards for rifles. If I need to sight in a scope or shoot a handgun for load development, I have a target frame bought from Amazon that works well at 25 yards. I keep it in the garage and shoot from under my carport off a tripod, and sitting in a hunting chair. It's not as good as my bench, but serves its purpose. The backstop from my bench is a hillside, the one from my carport is a thickly wooded area with a hillside behind it. Nobody lives downrange for a mile or more since it's creek bottom land behind my place that floods.

I'm curious to hear about everyone's favorite shooting range. What do you love about it — the atmosphere, the staff, or maybe it's just really convenient? Share the name and what makes it special!

I really miss Ralph's Range. Ralph was one of those guys that testified at the legislature in Austin when all of those rogue complaints were popping up with shooting ranges all over Texas. I sure wish I had a place like Ralph's to shoot again. If anyone living anywhere around Prosper, and wants a shooting buddy or wants to get rid of varmints, reach out to me. Wink Wink.

Fort Bliss, Texas Rod & Gun Club. As retired military (Army), I pay $150/year. Covered ranges are nice, helps to keep the blazing sun from burning too much.
