I go to Red's in Pflugerville, it's an indoor range. I live in the north of Austin so it's a 20 minute motorcycle ride on Mopac and Wells Branch

When I feel courageous, I ride to the Lone Star Gun Range near Lockhart. It's an hour and some ride from where I live and when traffic is bad, it can get tiring. But I prefer outdoor ranges and I seem to be more accurate and feel less impact / vibrations from other shooters

I'm a member at the Fayette County Gun Club, just outside LaGrange. Outdoor covered ranges for pistol, skeet, trap, and rifle up to 288 yds. 25, 100, 200, and 288 yds. $250 for the first year, $175 annually after that, if you re-up on time. $25 per session for visitors, dawn till dusk, on Tues and Saturdays, but visitors can shoot with members any time, for $25. Nice folks, decent range, and WAY LESS EXPENSIVE than the Austin range.

I was in La Grange an hour and a half or so ago on my way back from the coast to Austin. My wife and I had a coffee. Lovely little community, seems peaceful, clean and well mannered. Would be a nice place to get a house with some land and take it easy

I prefer Bastrop due to it's proximity to the airport and it's congeniality, but yes, LaGrange seems a nice little community. Oh, and for the record, COLA is lower in LaGrange. Bastrop County is pricey, for it's proximity.

I have few thousand acres of land to shoot on which isn't as much fun as being around fellow shooters (at times). The wife doesn't like it so much when I shoot from the backyard, but no big deal as i just go a couple of hundred yards to the east and shoot. Just wish I had a longer place to shoot (out to 1.5 miles) without overhead power lines. I can get maybe out to 1,200 yards without obstructions.

That’s nice! I only have 250 yards on my 14 acres….at your place you could practice 300, 600 &1000 yards that’s what I shoot at Bayou Rifles range down in Rosharon.

I used to shoot at Eagle in Lewisville, but I found that Rifle Gear on 121 in the Colony has a senior discount. Mon - Thurs 10:00 am - 4:00 pm seniors range fee is only $10.00
Bufford thanks for the info about Rifle Gear range. Any discounts for anything in today's economy helps! Plus, that range is about 2 miles from my home! I appreciate you!
