Hey everyone! I think it's super important for us to share our experiences with local gun shops, whether they've been gems or total flops. What makes a gun shop trustworthy to you? Maybe it's their selection of used guns, fair pricing, or the vibe of the staff. I know I've had my share of both great and not-so-great experiences out there, and I'd love to hear yours! Got a favorite shop in your area that you'd recommend, or a place that left a bad taste in your mouth? Let's talk about locations, transfer fees, and anything else you think folks should know. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Mine is a cautionary tale. I recently joined the ShootSIG program, their version of GSSF. Rather than send a coupon you take to a local retailer to buy a firearm at special price you buy direct from SIG. I ordered a P365XL after several weeks of waiting and hoping to get the XL. Not every gun is in the program and it randomly changes. An FFL list pops up. My usual local guy wasn't on it, nor was our local range. I chose the semi-nearby Range USA. I failed to check with them first. My failing and my fault. It arrived and I then learned their transfer fee - $100. So avoid Range USA for transfers. And don't foolishly presume all gun businesses are good and will do right by gun people.

If you live close to DFW GrabAGun is the best. If you can pick it up at there Coppell pick up location there are no shipping fees and no transfer fees. Most of the time they have the best pricing even if you have to ship to your local FFL.
Agreed - I live close enough to pick up in Coppell. I've bought a couple of guns from RangeUSA because they were the only place that had them. Same with Cabelas/BassPro.

I've bought a lot of stuff from GrabAGun.com
They called S&W when they denied a rebate for a pistol I bought from them. GaG went far beyond anything I'd every seen with any customer service. Ultimately S&W still denied the rebate by changing the rules. GaG sent an amount matching the rebate as a refund to my credit card.
