What's your go-to revolver for daily carry and why? I'd love to hear from those who regularly carry wheelguns about what they find most effective in real-life situations.
I've got a 638 and a 640-3 and would really like to have the Performance Center 642 for the extra 1/2" barrel length and better sights. If I ever get through paying the dentist and others.
I don't carry a revolver every day……….but if I did, it would be a Charter Arms Pug in .44 Special. Sound like a commercial ?
For my purposes, I just like a semi in 9mm, it carries better in an IWB holster. I'm not putting down any revolver, and I think that your choice is personal. I can shoot the semis better and faster so that's what I carry. I also think that semis are just a tool, while revolvers can be a thing of beauty as well.
Mine are from the Performance center. This is one of my two. They came with the Crimson Trace Grips. I am no great fan of them and sure don't depend on them, but they allow for a speed loader without any issue.

While I love my classic 'j frames' this 432UC with PGS Hideout grips is perfect for me. Airweight, real sights , very concealable in an IWB Simply Rugged Silver Dollar while remaining very 'shootable' ....and 6 rounds.
I have always had a J Frame in the rotation. Originally a model 36, which I gave to my son. I now have a 340PD which is an 11.4oz .357. I bought it years ago at a good price when I found a guy who bought it new and proceeded to load up with full strength 158gr .357. He pulled the trigger one time and put the gun on the market. I on the other hand load up with Speer 135gr Gold Dot 38+p, as my carry ammo which is manageable.
I carry a S&W 340PD in .357 when I pocket carry. It is a real handful with the magnum loads, so I rarely shoot/carry them. G19 IWB the rest of the time.
If I do, it's a Taurus Model 85 with a Biharmi Hip Grip. Not sure if the new Texas law considers the hip grip legal or not.
I would love to have an 8-shot .357 with a 3-inch barrel if that critter exist these days.
You can't beat the little 5 shot 38 special for a pocket gun. But, people often don't think about their choices with one.
I have stuck them in my pocket and out the door. A pocket holster is a must. Cheap and simple. Uncle Mikes is just fine.
Even though most of these guns are +P rated, it's not necessary or even prudent. How many people or things are you trying to shoot through? And, every time I pull the trigger I have to adjust my grip because the recoil rocks it back in my hand.
Shoot low recoil reduced loads. Ones that equal velocity/energy of a 9mm. They will work just fine and you will be able to pull off follow up shots easily.
