Perfect carry revolver?

I don't carry a revolver every day……….but if I did, it would be a Charter Arms Pug in .44 Special. Sound like a commercial ? 😀

For my purposes, I just like a semi in 9mm, it carries better in an IWB holster. I'm not putting down any revolver, and I think that your choice is personal. I can shoot the semis better and faster so that's what I carry. I also think that semis are just a tool, while revolvers can be a thing of beauty as well.
I offen carry a 357 ruger or 44 mag super readhwk hunting only.

I interpreted the question to be daily carry for personal protection, not on the ranch etc. I am gradually morphing more to a small frame .327 Federal Magnum revolver and will upgrade from 2" to 3" barrel before year's end. And I can use any .32 H&R Magnum or .32 S&W Long in it as well. YMMV

Had to remove the faulty data provided by Federal. Well, not faulty but for one ammo they inserted their 20" rifle barrel data not handgun data. Anyway, I'm becoming a Buffalo Bore fan and convert. They offer a 100gr JHP at 1315fps and 384# energy and a 130gr flat nose at 1291fps and 481# energy, both taken from a 3" SP101.

About "on the ranch", urban defense is mostly two legged varmints. On property the concern is two legged, four legged, Mr No shoulders and "Crap! Look at those teeth/tusks!!" I like seeing the range of what people carry. Your 327 Federal Mag is a very versatile choice for Texas. Would work for most of what you would encounter.

If I do, it's a Taurus Model 85 with a Biharmi Hip Grip. Not sure if the new Texas law considers the hip grip legal or not.
I would love to have an 8-shot .357 with a 3-inch barrel if that critter exist these days.
Texas law requires that open carried handguns must be in a holster.
