Anyone who likes rimfires should have these books. Walnut And Steel by Bill Ward. Vol. I and II are long guns. Vol. III is handguns. They are so full of history and information on great guns of the past. HIGHLY recommended.

Note, I have no connection other than really enjoying them.

Sounds like some real gems for a rimfire fan. Since you've dug into those volumes, did you come across any hidden stories or details that really stood out and made you appreciate rimfires even more?
 
There's an almost overwhelming amount of history and information. I wish my memory was better. I can't name any one thing but as a whole they are just great.
