I came across Montana Knife Company when I listened to an episode of the Dave Ramsey EntreLeadership podcast featuring their founder, Josh Smith. He shared some insights about their commitment to American craftsmanship and quality. The knives look impressive online, but I haven't had a chance to try one out myself. Has anyone here used their knives in the field? I'm curious about how they perform in real-world situations.

I have a stubhorn and like it. Used it to clean and breakdown 2 hogs and 2 deer before it needed sharpening.....sent it in to mkc they sharpened it for free.

I have a Stubhorn as well and like it. My go to of my MKC knives however is the Whitetail. I always come back to that one in the knife roll. I have used it on several animals and it is holding a nice edge. The ElkHorn Skinner, Blackfoot and Packout Skinner are also great products and purpose built. Overall the quality is very good on their products and shipping is super fast.

My dad has one, he loves it. He gifted me one. I love it. I gifted both my boys one and needless to say they love it. I have since moved over to a handmade knife that a good friend of mine got for me, but I always have the MKC in the truck ready for work

@Alan , forget the podcast stuff, that’s marketing..look, MKC knives are the real deal, built right here in the USA. They nail the blade steel and that 52100 is a fantastic balance of toughness and edge retention. If you're serious, skip the fancy models and grab the Speedgoat or the Whitetail. They're not cheap, but this isn't budget gear. You buy it once, you're done, so get something that actually performs under pressure, you won't regret the upgrade
