I recently started exploring some different hot sauces and got hooked on a couple of Tabasco options. I've especially been loving the Chipotle one—really adds a nice smoky flavor that isn't just all heat.

That got me wondering, what's everyone's daily go-to hot sauce?

Not the fancy stuff you break out for special occasions or those crazy hot ones that you can barely handle. I'm talking about that reliable bottle you always have in the fridge or on the dining table—the one you reach for when you're adding a little flair to eggs, tacos, or even just to spice up some leftovers.

Do you swear by something like Texas Pete or Cholula? Or is there a hidden gem in your kitchen that always comes through? I'm looking for hot sauces that strike a nice balance between flavor and heat.

What's your everyday choice, and what do you love putting it on?

Tabasco for Cajun, beans and some veggies. I make my own hot salsa for Mexican food and to dip with chips. A recipe I got in the 60's from a family friend that had several restaurants. Amazingly simple, but good.

For hot sauce, I use Tabasco or Louisiana Hot Sauce.
I've started making salsa. Still trying to get that perfect recipe that's flavorful but not too spicy hot. Made a batch last night that was pretty good when I put it into jars. Will sample today to see how it is after all the flavors blended together overnight.

Cholula or Valentina for eggs, Tabasco for pizza, Franks or Texas Pete for everything else. Trappeys hot peppers in vinegar for greens.

There is a yellow one from Barbados that is amazing but I can't recall the name. It's not handy so I forget it.

I will buy any hot sauce on the clearance rack to try it out.

Texas Pete and Tabasco. Walmart has some sample bottles of Kinder's Creamy Louisiana Hot sauce and Melinda's Green Sauce for a dollar and both are excellent. The Melinda's is excellent in a bowl of beans.

Not a sauce, but this:
