I've used AmmoSeek.com a few times when I was on the hunt for some .223 and 9mm ammo during a shortage last year. Overall, I found it pretty handy for comparing prices across different retailers. Most of the listings were accurate, but I did notice that a couple of prices fluctuated quite a bit since the site pulls from various sellers. What I did was double-check a couple of the retailers before hitting 'buy' to make sure they were reputable, and I've avoided any sketchy sellers so far. Just be wary of shipping costs because sometimes they can add up and make a good deal not so great. But for finding ammo, I’d say give it a shot—just keep your eyes peeled on those seller ratings.

Here's a user submitted site I have used for ammo for many years, but it's not just ammo. There are myriad tabs to select for firearms, coupons and others.
The ammo calibers is not as extensive as other sites, but most popular calibers are in the selection list.
gun-deals.com

I use them everyday to check the prices of ammo, just like I check the price of a bbl of oil or a ton of aluminum.
I have found some great deals that truly saves me a lot of money. I think in the last 3 years I have purchased from I think 8 vendors. I have even found vendors through Ammoseek.com that are close enough to drive to.
Can't say enough about how it helps make a good decision and helps a consumer cut through the BS.
You can also find some seriously good deals on guns.

So yeah, they're worth the several clicks.

Let me add this.
The thing about Ammoseek.com is that it puts into perspective the shipping issue and you can find pricing on what you're looking for.
You dial in whatever info you want. And you can avoid these places that are offering ten cent shells but are asking $200 freight charges for a box of shells.
That's the difference!

Yeppers this is a good tool for researching price and availability! Also compare shipping charges while you are at it!

I've used them for years as I have to search and find what I need because living in a small town in the middle of nowhere that's a long way to everywhere that doesn't have what I need. The other site I use is WikiArms (or something like that), but it doesn't have the variety or depth that AmmoSeek does. I found 6.5PRC ammo for $1.47 per on there. This was in the last 2 years. I also found 7 RSAUM ADG brass for $1.45 per.

I haven't used any yet as I need to finish the build. It's a temporary build for fit (AR10). I'm so way behind on finishing builds and load developments by at least years. I have norma for 264wm and 6.5prc.
