Movies that completely butcher gun realism

John Wick is fun but the reload speeds and endless magazines are hilarious. Anything where pistols have perfect accuracy at 100 yards. And movies where people rack the slide dramatically before confronting someone...congrats, you just ejected a perfectly good round. Hollywood treats guns like magic wands!

Oh, there are so many! Hollywood loves the dramatic effect over realism, never mind that a Glock doesn’t jam after one shot in real life.

The sound is what bugs me. Every gun sounds like a cannon and silencers seem like magic...
Especially silencers on revolvers !😂 You don’t see much of that now, but on the old movies and tv shows there were lots of examples.

The racking the slide two or three times in different scenes, used to even see guys levering their Winchesters multiple times and no cartridge case was ever ejected. 🤣 Iffen yor gun ain’t loaded podnuh, it’s just a club !

One of the most egregious ones was Wanted Dead or Alive, a Steve McQueen show before he was famous. He carried a sawed off Model 92 Winchester which was only ever chambered in revolver calibers, 44-40 and the like, but he carried 45-70 cartridges in his belt ! There’s just a wee bit of differences between those cartridges Hollywood !😬
