Do you wrap your guns?

I wrapped an AR and a hunting rifle with vinyl and here's what I think. Gun skins are great for camo, covering up scratches and making your gun look cool. Good vinyl is tough but the bad thing is bubbles can get trapped and cheap skins can peel...so prep the gun, go slow and buy good material.

I use Duracoat. It takes some time and a bit of equipment to apply it, but it looks great and is durable.

You need an airbrush and compressor, but you can buy those kits for $80 on Amazon.

Kane Gun Chaps were the trick for those gloss finished hunting rifles. Not because we were concerned about the mirror like qualities that flashed so strongly in the sun but because we were afraid of scratching the stock's gloss finish.
For Military applications a rattle can paint job that matches the environment is much better. The airbrushed finishes can be absolutely beautiful.
Most hunters do not keep still enough for camouflage to make much difference.

I do and have used all of the methods listed, I have a pro Cerakote oven and blast cabinet but my compressor died and I haven’t bought another. KG Gunkote, Duracote and Cerakote all work, my issue with Duracote is that it goes on much thicker than the others so you have to mask areas that are close tolerance but for DIY coverage on a shiny new stainless barrel it works. My most recent personal build was done with Krylon flat camo paint, good thing is if you mess up an area, just mask everything and spray it again. As mentioned earlier it is what most military guys use because it’s quick and easy to blend with an AO. Grab some leaves, grass, netting or just a torn piece of paper to create a pattern, let it dry and move out. For a really quick solution I use bow tape, I don’t usually like to paint scopes so I use bow tapes on them, throw a little burlap in as you wrap and you can break up the lines effectively. Remember that you’re not deploying as a sniper where you build a hide, the goal is to reduce reflections and make movement less noticeable, movement is the key so slow and deliberate.
