Know-it-alls who won't listen..

Without context it's hard to determine what's got you irritated. Maybe they didn't describe the problem well? Maybe they have done a ton of research and are trying to eliminate causes. Or maybe they are just a know it all and like to argue

 I've honestly stopped bothering with those kinds of people. If they're not even willing to learn then trying to help them is just a waste of your time and effort.

Happens to me when I'm fishing. Don't know what it's called but I have one of those reels the line goes back and forth side to side, open so you can watch it. I have a 4oz teardrop shaped sinker on the line. Option 1, see just how far out it can zing before reeling it back and going again. Option 2, see just how close to plopping it down in the same spot every time you can get. "Those people" come asking me what I'm doing. Fishing, obviously. Then they start in all about not having a hook or lure on the line. Well, duh. You only need those if you are attempting to catch. Not for fishing. SMH

“Do the right thing even if you might not get good results”
I answer the question along with why I think that way. If it falls on deaf ears and no chance of anyone getting hurt, I go on about my day unperturbed.

And on the way home Red Lobster or Joe's Crab Shack serves a delicious meal without all that cleaning and cooking and clean-up. Relaxed from fishing and well fed. Win-win.
