I didn't get how different Texas could look until I used the wrong binoculars. One morning in Hill Country, my cheap Bushnell Falcons made everything a blurry green mess. I scanned the ridges but couldn't spot a deer. Weeks later in West Texas, same problem. The sun and heat messed with the view. A big buck walked right by but I couldn't see it clearly because of the glare.

Then I got Vortex Viper HDs, and they worked great in low light and with the heat...so I definitely recommend them

Texas is possibly the most varied state in the USA when it comes to hunting. No other state can you hunt Alligator one day and Desert Bighorn the next. Naturally occurring Elk, (not game ranch Elk) Pronghorn, Mulies, East Texas 120 lb Whitetail or NW Texas 220 lb Whitetail. Nutria and Wood ducks out of Houston or prairie dogs and Sandhill Cranes out of Amarillo!

Every kind of terrain imaginable can be found here too.

Hard to be the Viper series at their price point. I've used a lot of different brands and you usually get what you pay for in Bino's.

I have hunted muleys in MT and CO, pronghorn in MT and WY, and deer over lots of Texas, and Nikon 10X42 have served me well.

Oh, and elk in NM, but never had to unlimber the binos, my cow elk hit the ground right after daylight, as close to a drive-by as you can get without being in Chicago ! :ROFLMAO:

I'm a big Tract fan, their glass is exceptional un less you're spending $3k or more and even then it's very comparable. I have three Tract scopes and would have their binoculars if I didn't already have Meopta Meostars B1 HD which are every bit as good as Swarovski.

Tract binos are under $800. for 10X, they only sell direct from Tract in case you didn't know.
