I'll die on this hill: "Federal Champion for range work" Is it match grade? Nope. Does it go bang every time and group well enough for practice? Absolutely. I've put thousands of rounds through various guns and can count failures on one hand.

I agree on Champion rimfjre ammo. To get better costs a lot more. I used it on silhouette for years.

Federal Champion isn’t fancy, but it’s consistent and exactly what you want for high-volume practice.

That’s been my experience too, if it cycles clean and groups decent, it’s good enough for practice.

With the serious 22lr shortage it's luck to get anything. Pull up 22lr on Midway and they have 117 offerings. Click "in stock" and it drops to 20. I've got probably more than I'll ever think about shooting in the short span I have left but if you find something you like it might be time to stock up a bit. If you can get it at all.
