I need recommendations on the best hunting stores in Texas

I am looking for recommendations on which hunting stores in Texas are the most reliable? I care about gear quality, knowledgeable staff, warranty support, and online/in-store consistency. Are there any stores in Hill Country, East Texas, Panhandle, or Dallas/Fort Worth you trust? I would love to hear where-to's and where to avoid
 
Bass Pro has a pretty good inventory. Not sure where they are located other than those right around me. I like Midway USA online for most of my shopping. I don't hunt though, just shooting/reloading. Good luck finding what you need.
 
Cabelas used to be great but I think has gone down hill since being acquired by Bass Pro. I think Scheels is good. As for knowledgeable staff, I don't think you are going to find many employees in any store who are very knowledgeable.
 
Not sure there is a 'one stop shop' any more.
There are Filson brick & mortars for clothing.
Some quality gun stores...Collectors Firearms in Houston etc.
Red Head boot outlets?
 
If you're ever in the Hill Country, you gotta check out West Bear Creek General Store in Junction. They know their stuff and the gear is top-notch
 
Seems like everyone's got the same thought on the big box stores.If you're ever down near Austin, you gotta hit up Sportsman's Finest. It's a different world from the big chains. They're more of a high-end place with killer gear and the staff really knows their stuff on rifles, optics, and gear. They dont have a huge selection of feeders and corn, but for quality stuff, they're hard to beat

I've used Midway USA too and they're good for reloading stuff. I'll keep Bass Pro in mind, even if it's not hunting-specific. Thanks

Yeah, seems like you gotta mix and match these days. I'll check out Collectors Firearms and maybe Filson for gear
 
If your ever in / near Lampasas, try Hoffpauir's Ranch and Supply. Surprisingly wide selection of good quality hunting and outdoor supplies. Family owned and the folks are great. Think they also have a smaller place in Burnet on HWY 281.
 
We have lots of good gun stores here in the panhandle but for hunting gear, you can pick from Academy in Amarillo or any Walmart. Big R in Dumas has some hunting gear as well as any Gebos in the panhandle. Nobody has better selection of reloading stuff than Pampa reloading.
