Hit up Lake Texoma last weekend with a buddy. Targeted some stripers since the weather was warm and sunny, perfect for a day on the water. The bite was decent early in the morning, and we managed a couple nice 22-inchers using white topwater plugs. As the sun got higher, things slowed down a bit, but we still had a blast. Lost a few good strikes too, which always keeps it interesting. Overall, a solid day despite forgetting my net again. How's the fishing treating everyone else this year?

Haven't been fishing in years. I don't know any of the right terminology. I had a reel that looked like a miniature deep sea fishing reel, the kind where the line goes back and forth from one side to the other and it's open so you can see it. I had a maybe 3 or 4 ounce sort of teardrop shaped sinker. It would really zing out a long ways.

Used to love either trying to plop it in at the same spot or else see just how far it would fly. Got lots of interesting unsolicited advice too. "Um, there's no hook on your line." "Hey, you need a lure on there to get anything." Stuff like that.

Nope. I'm fishing. If I have hooks/lures/whatever then I may wind up catching. Fishing is calm and relaxing. Catching is anxiety followed by work. Cleaning, cooking, cleaning up. Red Lobster takes care of that and does a good job of it after a nice relaxed day of fishing.
