Okay, holster talk: Do you go with the classic feel of leather or the secure lock of Kydex? Which one do you folks use every day??

The one I’m wearing now with my S&W Shield Plus is a hybrid. It’s leather with a trigger guard lock, latch, or whatever you want to call it. Anyway, it has a tactile feel when the guard goes home and it’s truly the most comfortable IWB holster I’ve ever worn. That’s utilitarian.

But leather, now that’s beautiful and it smells good !😊 This was made by a friend that does leather work on the side. Backcountry Leather can be found on Facebook. It houses my Ruger Blackhawk in .41 magnum with a Burris scope. As you can see, the Ruger has been customized with a brass grip and Bocote grips, hammer and trigger all done by Ronnie Wells at RW Grip Frames in Houston.

I usually go with Kydex holsters since they don't change in the heat or rain. But I still have a leather one I use for weekends.

Leather for me ...as you can see. In fact, the older I get, I am more interested in good holsters than in new guns :)
