I've been trying to figure out if binary triggers are legal in Texas. Just moved here a few months ago, and I’m still getting the hang of all the laws. I love shooting and might want to upgrade my setup with one of those triggers, but I don’t want to get into any trouble. I've heard mixed opinions – some say they’re fine, while others suggest they might be on shaky ground legally. If anyone has gone through this recently or has some solid info, I’d really appreciate it. Are there any specific rules or requirements I should be aware of? Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your question but I know I can spend plenty on ammo as it is without doubling up on each trigger press. :)

I'd be careful, too. Texas currently hasn't specifically banned binary triggers, yet ATF rulings and court fights have flipped the landscape recently, so double-check current law and talk to a firearms attorney before you buy, that's my safe advice

Welcome to Texas, where the guns are big and the politics are bigger. Legally, your binary trigger is totally fine in Texas, the ATF has generally said it's okay because you have to pull and release for two shots. It's not a machine gun, so you're clear on that front. The real controversy you'll find is at your local range! They'll act like you just committed a federal crime when you unleash that double tap. Be prepared for the looks and the range officer marching over, but legally, you're just enjoying some very fast, completely legal freedom...just don't break the rule about keeping it pointed downrange, or they'll kick you out faster than you can yell "Come and Take It!"

Get an FRT and a Dillon 1100 and buy lots and lots of components.

Then it feels “free” to rattle off 20-30 in a short 10 second session. All your cost was in the $4k for the machine and $1k-$2k for components. Then, you feel like you HAVE to shoot a bunch of ammo to justify your purchases.

Your happiness will increase by 18%, your love life by 32% and your anger and resentment issues all but disappear on this program.

Trust me. I’m a Dr. I know things.

Yep most ranges have a No Rapid Fire POLICY. With that said….
Buy yourself a big enough piece of property out in the woods ( check county regulations on minimum size) required 10+ acres where I am at. Some people go for accuracy some just like to hear the rapid fire. Like Wendell said get a progressive press a truck load of components and a few extra barrels.
Have a blast….
